Every instrument from PC Instruments includes the BenchTop Lite User Interface. All instrument controls are accessible via the point-and-click buttons included in BenchTop Lite. Level settings, such as the Trigger Level of an oscilloscope or the Amplitude Level of a waveform generator, are easily adjusted using BenchTop Lite's unique decade increment/decrement capability. Also, waveforms, instrument setups, and display layouts can be saved and recalled from files. Besides using the graphical controls, the SCPI Command entry dialog can also be used to change instrument settings. This dialog box makes it easy for test and production engineers to interactively build command strings and get immediate visual feedback as the commands are executed. This is an excellent way to learn how to control the instruments from PC Instruments (in fact, some schools use BenchTop Lite to teach their students how to create ATE software). A Hardware Configuration program and the PC Instruments Data Exchange program are included with BenchTop Lite. Data Exchange is used to convert and manipulate data files captured by oscilloscopes and used by arbitrary waveform generators.

Controls All Instruments

BenchTop Lite provides a variety of controls for the instruments produced by PC Instruments. Pictured here is a list box used by the arbitrary waveform generators ("Arb") for controlling the waveform sequencer. Pictured in the background is the waveform display area of the "Arb". Pointing at the waveform display area and pushing the right mouse button accesses instrument controls.
